Trader Joe's Penne Pepperonata

"Imported Penne Pasta with a Red Pepper Cream Sauce" OOOOOO. I had tried this a month or two ago when we were cleaning out our fridge and subsequently had nothing to eat. Usually hunger makes for poor decision making, but this time I think we did well.

Trader Giotto's Organic Riced Cauliflower

"Wait a minute. What is this blasphemous food?!" Said my husband A. The rice king.

Trader Joe's Organic Spicy Spinach Blend

I couldn't help but notice that since the beginning of January, there's been extra traffic at Trader Joe's. In the parking lot. In the store aisles. Especially by the refrigerator case right by the salad greens. It's like salad is the new cookie butter or something (KIDDING. Salad can NEVER replace cookie butter EVER).  This trend usually slows down in a normal supermarket, right about now around the end of January when people start throwing in the towel on their New Years resolutions, but at TJ's? There's always a steady stream of people buying overpriced salad.* How do I know? In my experience of peeping** at what other people are buying, the consumers in my area actually purchase a surprising amount of vegetables and other healthy food. Not everyone goes to TJ's exclusively for four bags of sriracha chips snacks.
*Overpriced is a relative term. It's overpriced if you compare it to the normal cost of salad greens that require washing, drying, and ch…

Trader Joe's Pour-Over Coffee Brewer

Homegirl hit up TJ's early this morning before coffee and breakfast to pick up some bread because we're actually out of bread. Did not expect the lines to be so long before 9am, but y'know, word on the street is that we're in for some crazy snow that we haven't seen in about a year. Commence typical pre-snowpocalypse pseudo-panic. Don't people have work?? And because it was so crowded, TJ's did not have any free samples of coffee either! Crazy! Which led to this purchase! And now I'm caffeinated enough to use exclamation points!

Trader Joe's Natural Beef Jerky - Teriyaki Flavor

I never saw a need for beef jerky in my life. Until I got married. Apparently, guys need beef. Who knew. Also, my concept of beef jerky before TJ's was those rope-like slim jims. How that could pass for human sustenance? I have no idea.

Trader Joe's Opal Apples

To be fair, I'm not totally sure this is a valid product for my blog. Does this apple have the Trader Joe's brand slapped across the sticker? Noooooo. So can you really call it a Trader Joe's Opal Apple? Noooooo.

Trader Joe's Turkey, Spinach, and Swiss Cheese Wrap, Turkey Club Wrap, and Cubano Seasoned Wrap

Wraps are another TJ's food I only get when I travel. Not something I crave or think about buying on a regular basis. At all. But they cost $3.99 each, which is way cheaper than any airport food. We picked up three mayo-less wraps. Mayo wraps tend to go bad faster at room temperature (and an airplane is probably one of the last places where you want to come down with food poisoning).

Trader Joe's Legendary Nut & Berry Mix

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to another year and hopefully more delicious Trader Joe's!
It's finally beginning to feel like a real winter here in the Northeast. Aigoo. This was the weather we were hoping to escape when planning our vacation for the first two weeks of December. Sadly, the weather was still ridiculously temperate and nice. As for today, it is the kind of day where I would rather tolerate the third day of unwashed hair than remove five layers of clothing and a down blanket to take a shower (but professionalism calls, so I'm afraid dry shampoo won't do here..) So let us take a trip down memory lane, to the time I took Trader Joe's with me on vacation. To the Bahamas.
