Trader Joe's sells one of my favorite cheeses - a creamy toscano soaked in Syrah. It's like if cheddar and parmesan got together, had a baby, and baptized the kid in Syrah via dunking and not sprinkling. Probably not entirely ethical to dunk a kid in real life, but in my crazy metaphor, the end product is a really delicious cheese. This is its rosé cousin.
2. The baseline toscano is just fantastic. It's an almost hard cheese with a creamy texture.
3. The rosé flavor is a bit inconsistent IMO - its distribution in the block that I got was kinda spotty. Some bites I have an imaginary hint rosé, and the occasional bite of this cheese has a pretty strong hit of rosé, but the overall vibe is pretty subtle. If memory serves me correctly, the Syrah flavor in the was pretty much in every bite. Which is what I thought would happen in this cheese. But my block of cheese did not carry enough of the rosé flavor - or maybe that's just the nature of rosé wine?
4. It's a tad more expensive at $9.99/lb. I'm not incredibly impressed but it's still a good cheese, probably because of the fact that it's a toscano cheese. If you're into having wine-in-the-cheese and you like rosé this one's a good choice for a cheeseboard, I suppose.
5. Limited edition product.
TL;DR: Trader Joe's Creamy Toscano Cheese soaked in Rose Wine. Seems like this cheese got sprinkled instead of dunked. :P 7 out of 10. Mantou Joe repurchase? Maybe not.
Thanks for the blog loaded with so many information. Clear bottles and containers offer consumers a sneak automatic bagging at a product, but at the same time create a unique challenge when it comes to packaging. While clear bottles can create a dynamic shelf impact, imagine a product in a clear bottle, on a shelf, in which every single bottle is filled to a different level.
